Thank you for the coverage

For the second year in a row, Wheat has won the award for Eco Children's Fashion Brand of the Year at the Junior Design Awards 2025. We are very aware of greenwashing and do not describe ourselves as "eco", but refer readers to the jury's statements to better understand exactly what the word covers in this context.

That said, we are proud to be recognised for Wheat's long journey of creating children's clothing that should do more than just be stylish or functional. Natural fibres such as cotton, linen and wool were the starting point when Charlotte Galsgaard founded Wheat in 2002 – as was the wish to eliminate the use of harmful chemicals.

Today, Wheat uses almost exclusively certified organic or recycled fabrics that meet strict requirements for the use of chemicals – for example, we have replaced conventional PU coating with water-based PU in our rainwear, and together with Pond and BioSolutions Zealand we are developing a bio-based textile that could replace recycled nylon/polyester in the future.

We can and must keep getting better.

We are grateful for the award from the Junior Design Awards and the coverage Wheat has received in this connection from Fashion Forum and Branchebladet TØJ.
