EXTEND THE LIFESPAN

We’ve made room for more children’s names in our neck labels, so outerwear in particular can join as many adventures as possible.

Here are some tips and helpful advice on how to extend the lifespan of the clothes.

Clothing and outerwear

When you take good care of your child’s clothes, they last longer – both for the sake of the environment and for yourself. It’s important to follow the care instructions on the clothing and only wash when it’s truly necessary. Often, simply airing the clothes outside is enough to freshen them up. Wool garments can be placed in a plastic bag and put in the freezer for 1–2 days to remove odours and bacteria. When washing wool, you should use a gentle wool programme – or wash it by hand – and always let it dry flat on a horizontal surface.

Whenever possible, clean your waterproof outerwear with a cloth wrung out in warm water. Machine washing can reduce its waterproofness.

Many of our outerwear products come with iron-on patches, making it easy to repair small holes – you can see how to iron on a patch here.

If the clothes get damaged, we recommend trying to sew or patch them.

If the foot straps on your child’s snowsuit or overalls break, you can order a new set on our website. They are available in several different colors.

Shoes and boots

Our winter boots also require a little care to keep them looking good and functional for longer. It’s a good idea to waterproof the boots so they better resist moisture and dirt – remember to choose the waterproofing product according to the material, whether it’s leather or textile.

The boots should be waterproofed regularly, and it’s important to clean them first before doing so.

Avoid drying shoes, winter boots, and rubber boots on a radiator or other heat sources, as this can damage the material and TEX membrane. Winter boots must not be machine washed – instead, clean them gently with a cloth wrung out in warm water.

Rubber boots

Rinse After Use
– Rinse the boots with water after use to remove dirt, mud, and salt.

Use Mild Soap – If they are very dirty, use a soft brush or cloth with mild soap and lukewarm water. Avoid strong cleaning products.

Dry Properly – Let them air-dry naturally, away from direct sunlight or heat sources such as radiators, as this can cause the rubber to crack.

Care for the Rubber – Use a rubber care product or a little silicone spray to prevent drying and cracking – especially if the boots look dull.

Store Upright – Keep them upright or use boot shapers to prevent folds and creases.

Avoid Extreme Temperatures – Store them in a cool, dry place, and avoid direct sunlight or freezing conditions, which can make the rubber brittle.

Fill with Newspaper – If they are to be stored for a longer period, you can fill them with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape.
