Our mission is to provide stylish essentials for an ever-playful childhood. We are committed to creating high quality kidswear and footwear that allow kids to be kids in all their adventurous ways, through all seasons and weather conditions. We celebrate the surprising, creative, and curious ways in which kids explore the world. We design for all children and all their adventures with responsibility, product safety and longevity in mind. OUR JOURNEY
Wheat was family-founded in 2002 in Denmark. As a mother of three, Charlotte Galsgaard dreamt of classic children’s clothing in quality chemical-free fabrics. Today, Wheat is evolving into an international universe of Scandinavian kidswear committed to unleashing playful freedom for kids as well as positive change in the industry. Key milestones in our journey include:
- 2002 – Wheat is established
- 2002 – The first hand-drawn floral prints
- 2012 – Launch of a bestseller: Thermo wear
- 2019 – Oeko-Tex certification
- 2020 – Solar panels provide energy to the entire HQ
- 2020 – Transition to recycled polyester/nylon
- 2021 – Launch of Wheat Footwear
- 2023 – GOTS and GRS certifications
- 2023 – Opening of the first Wheat flagship store in London
- 2024 – Launch of water-based PU rainwear
2024 – Wheat wins GOLD at the Junior Design Awards in the category Best Children’s Eco Fashion Brand
